Last month, a lot happened at FRC Randwijk, including several meetings. OFH Hail Insurance held a meeting at FRC Randwijk, focusing on the assessment criteria for hail damage, to ensure all assessors evaluate damage consistently. As an engaged sponsor of the trial orchard, OFH Hail Insurance made use of our beautiful location.

We celebrated the 12.5-year anniversary of Greenport Gelderland. Additionally, the “refresher” course for civil servants from fruit-growing municipalities took place. We are increasingly aware of how important it is to involve people in the wonderful profession we practice. Activities like these help civil servants and citizens become familiar with modern fruit growing.

The developments of the past 10 years, in particular, have been significant. It would be a shame if our consumers of the incredibly healthy and clean fruit we produce were unaware of the immense amount of work that goes into it. For us as a trial orchard—and for you as a grower—it is a very important task to tell an honest story and show that we are fully committed to producing healthy and high-quality fruit.
